LoveHate

Digital collage, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Street art photography, 30cm x 40cm, 2024

LoveHate is a digital series that weaves Tel Aviv Street art fragments to explore activist artwork made in public spaces. The project amplifies the voices of Street artists whose messages are etched into the urban landscape by reimagining these ephemeral works, often created in response to cultural conflict and social movements.

To make this work, I used AI software to distill each Street art piece's visual language and conceptual underpinnings, interpreting its essence as a form of mediated storytelling for artists to explore violence, trauma, and memory. This distilled summary becomes the narrative for reimagining the original work as new, AI-generated media. This process allows me to transform static street art into dynamic recreations, exploring the evolution of street art as a fluid and responsive voice in the digital age. This method makes some AI-generated media for Israel’s landscapes seem out of place. This work seeks to honor these urban and rural expressions by extending their impact across physical and virtual spaces, challenging traditional boundaries between artist, artwork, and audience.
